For those that, like me, like to see things in boxes and arrows, the Guardian Technology Blog has put together a fantastic diagram that summarises the various patent infringement claims that the big players in mobile technology are making against each other. Even better, the Guardian appears to be updating the diagram as new claims come to hand (such as Motorola’s latest action against Apple). I will leave IP Whiteboard readers to extract their own inferences from the diagram, but to me the most striking (if not particularly profound) conclusion is that the pattern of mobile patent litigation is strongly aligned with broader strategic movements within the big technology players.
