Cyber resilience health check

15 June 2015

Data breaches and cybercrime are regularly occurring in Australia.  PricewaterhouseCooper’s Global State of Information Security Survey 2015, which surveyed more than 9,700 security, IT and business executives, stated that the total number of cybersecurity incidents in 2014 was 42.8 million – an increase of 48% from 2013.

ASIC, APRA and the Office of the Australian Information Commission have all signalled that they are keeping a watchful eye on how Australian organisations protect their data and systems.  In fact, ASIC Chairman, Greg Medcraft, has said that cybercrime could be the next “black swan” event and has warned that Australian companies are not sufficiently prepared for such dangers.

Is your organisation cyber resilient?

Over the coming weeks we will be discussing issues around cyber-resilience.  If you are interested and have not already joined KWM’s data protection & privacy mailing list, please email me on amanda.engels@au.kwm.com to be added to our mailing list.
