First Hong Kong competition case goes to the Competition Tribunal – what this signals for companies

21 April 2017

The Hong Kong Competition Commission has taken its first case to the Hong Kong Competition Tribunal.  The case involves allegations that five IT companies engaged in bid-rigging in relation to a tender for an IT server system to the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), and that the companies agreed to submit non-genuine “dummy” bids to satisfy the YWCA’s minimum requirement of five tenders.  The HKCC was alerted to the allegations following a complaint from the YWCA.

Read this alert from our colleagues in Hong Kong to find out more about the case and the three key takeaway points.
